The County Auditor's duties are varied as set forth in the Ohio Revised Code, and include being the chief fiscal officer of the county and the county tax assessor, among others. Contrary to popular belief, the one thing the County Auditor does not have the legal authority to do is audit anyone — that is the responsibility of the Auditor of State.
