COUNTY AUDITOR’S OFFICES RELEASES FACT SHEETS FOR NOVEMBER 2025 GENERAL ELECTION LEVY ISSUES
The Fairfield County Auditor’s Office has released fact sheets for the issues and property tax levies on the November 4, 2025, general election ballot.

ANY INCREASE IN PROPERTY VALUATION DOES NOT MEAN A DOLLAR-FOR-DOLLAR INCREASE IN PROPERTY TAXES.
Anytime a revaluation occurs, it necessitates a review of the tax rates that are used to calculate taxes against. In general, as properties increase in value, the tax rate will be adjusted downward for the area. This adjustment ensures that there is not an overcollection on certain types of levies. The State of Ohio typically reissues tax rates around late December.

The Fairfield County Auditor’s Office has completed the state-mandated sexennial review and updates for property valuations.
FAIRFIELD COUNTY AUDITOR’S OFFICE RELEASES ANNUAL COMPREHENSIVE FINANCIAL REPORT
Fairfield County Auditor, Dr. Carri L. Brown, announced today the release of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) for Fairfield County, Ohio. The report covers the financial activity of the county through December 31, 2024.
FAIRFIELD COUNTY AUDITOR, DR. CARRI BROWN, APPOINTED TO NATIONAL EDITORIAL BOARD
Dr. Carri Brown, Fairfield County Auditor, has been appointed to the national editorial board of the Journal of Government Financial Management, a publication of the Association of Government Accountants (AGA). Her term will begin on July 1, 2025, and run through June 30, 2028.
FAIRFIELD COUNTY AWARDED GOVERNMENT FINANCE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION (GFOA) AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN POPULAR ANNUAL FINANCIAL REPORTING
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has given an Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting to Fairfield County for its Popular Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2023.
VENDOR LICENSE APPLICATION FEE INCREASE
With the passage of House Bill 366, the one-time fee for applying for a new vendor’s license will increase to $50. This change is effective April 9, 2025, as announced by the Ohio Department of Taxation.
FAIRFIELD COUNTY AUDITOR RECEIVES TECHCRED GRANT
The Fairfield County Auditor recently received a “TechCred” grant from the state of Ohio for employees to obtain technical credentials. The state program is designed to improve workforce knowledge in Ohio, no matter what industry the employees are working in because technology is having an impact on businesses throughout the state.
FAIRFIELD COUNTY AUDITOR ANNOUNCES NEW TECHNOLOGY TO IMPROVE SERVICES: AN ONLINE LOT SPLIT APPLICATION PROGRAM
The Fairfield County Auditor’s Office is pleased announce the creation of an online lot split application program. This new program allows property owners or their agents a flexible and efficient way to submit lot split applications.

Homeowners aged 65 and older or those who are permanently and totally disabled may qualify for Ohio’s Homestead Exemption for property tax relief.

Fairfield County Awarded Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting
Fairfield County Auditor, Dr. Carri L. Brown, learned today that the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded Fairfield County with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. This award is based on the production of the annual comprehensive financial report for the year ended December 31, 2023. The report has been judged by an independent panel to meet high standards for financial reporting.

Rachel Elsea, Communications Officer and Deputy County Auditor, recently earned a Society for Human Resource Management certification. The SHRM certification is a credential that demonstrates an individual's proficiency in the field of human resources. The credential is designed for professionals who perform HR-related duties, such as implementing policies, interacting with employees and stakeholders, and performing everyday functions.
