With the start of summer and school ending, the May 2024 newsletter contains information about an evening call center we're hosting to give residents an opportunity to get property tax questions answered outside of regular office hours. In addition, we're sharing information about the Owner Occupancy Credit program, Ohio's tax finder, "The Finder", and proposed solutions from the County Auditors' Association of Ohio to help lessen the burden of property tax increases for millions of Ohioans.

April is such an exciting time of year, as we wrap up school, plan special celebrations and prepare our plans for the summer.
Speaking of celebrations, the Fairfield County Auditor's Office is excited to share two special recognitions we received recently. First, an Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting from the Government Financial Officers Association. And second, a recognition we are incredibly proud of, the Auditor's Office was voted #1 in "The Best Places to Work" in the Fairfield County Community's Choice Awards!

March was an exciting month, with hints of spring weather and several great events in our community. A group from our team enjoyed the 2024 Celebrate Women Event, which you can read more about in this edition. We have several updates to share with you in this newsletter, including our newest video PSA on recognizing and avoiding credit card skimmers at gas station pumps. We also share information on the Board of Revision process and deadline, how to recognize and report fraud, a recently awarded TechCredit grant, and more. You'll also see the many fun places that our logo has traveled over the last month!
In addition, we recently launched an online survey, designed for public agencies and elected officials to inquire about the possibility of developing a financial leadership academy for entry-level and higher financial positions within local government. Before moving forward with this concept, we want to gauge interest on such a training and gather feedback on the structure and timing of the prospective program.>
Auditor Brown shares several updates with you in the newsletter, including information on the Board of Revision Online Case Files, Board of Health apportionments, levy fact sheets, tax information, and more. In addition, we share some initiatives our team has been working on, as well as what we are looking forward to in the coming weeks. To start off the year, we are pleased to welcome two new team members to the Auditor's Office, who we introduce in the article below. We also announce the winner of the 2023 Map of the Year. Thank you to all who voted! You will also find information about the Board of Revision Process, our Online Property Tax Estimator Tool, our January and February Map of the Month, a special map we have onsite in our map room, and more employee highlights. In this edition of Auditor's Ledger, we are sharing our 2023 Year in Review document, featuring an article from our BOR Administrator, Linda O'Toole, Esq., about the Board of Revisions process, and introducing Making Numbers Count: a new in-service for individuals who support the financial and payroll processes of the county.
In November, we celebrate National Accounting Month and honor our local Veterans for their service and sacrifice. We're sharing a new map of the month for November, as well as a couple previous maps that seem to get a lot of interest this time of year. Next month, you'll have the opportunity to vote on your favorite map! Finally, we are sharing some photos that capture the good times had at the Fairfield County Fair.
We enjoyed seeing many of you at our inaugural Real Estate Summit this month, which you can read more about in this newsletter. Our team is also eagerly gearing up for the Fairfield County Fair, returning October 8 - 14. Be sure to check out some fun facts about our local fair in this newsletter. In this edition, we also congratulate this year's recipients of the Weights and Measures Awards of Excellence, and introduce two new team members. You will also find information on the recent completion of the 2022 Fairfield County Financial Audit, our October Map of the Month, some of our recent community involvements, and more!
