The County Auditor's responsibilities are varied as set forth in the Ohio Revised Code, and include being the chief fiscal officer of the county and the tax assessor among others. However, contrary to popular belief, the one thing the County Auditor does not have the legal authority to do is audit anyone. That is the responsibility of the Auditor of State.

To explain what the county auditor really does, we have put together a great deal of information and included many useful items which we believe will be helpful in your dealings with our office.

You will find auditor resources and forms that you can fill out and return to us along with contact information so you can e-mail a message or call us on the phone. You will also find our mailing address for any correspondence.

One of our newest features is the attachment of our real estate and tax data to this web site. You can also access this information directly at realestate.co.fairfield.oh.us.

You now have the ability to purchase your dog tag online.  This system also can be used to check the tag of a lost dog to find its owner.
