Pursuing justice for Fairfield County
What the Prosecuting Attorney is responsible for
It is the mission of the Office of the Fairfield County Prosecuting Attorney to provide effective and efficient prosecution-related services as mandated by the Constitution and Statutes of the State of Ohio. Our goal is to achieve justice for all people and to be responsive to the needs and concerns of those impacted by crime in our community.
First and foremost, the prosecuting attorney is charged with prosecuting crimes that occur within the county and seeking justice for victims — including adult offenders, juvenile delinquency, truancy, and traffic cases. The office also represents Child Protective Services in abuse, neglect, and dependency matters, and advises the elected officials, boards, and departments serving Fairfield County.
