Greenfield Water & Sewer District Acquisition FAQ

Essential information for customers regarding billing, payments, and service during and after the acquisition of the Greenfield Water & Sewer District by Fairfield County Utilities.

Billing & Payments

Rates and bills. Utility rates will not increase due to the merger, and the billing format remains the same as currently handled by Fairfield County Utilities.

Payment locations. Payments can be made in person at 6670 Lockville Road, Carroll, Ohio, or at Fairfield National / Park National bank locations on or before the due date.

Payment methods.

  • In person / mail: check, money order, or cashier's check.
  • Phone / online: credit card, debit card, or e-check (via Official Payments at 1-800-272-9829 or their website).

Electronic billing. Automatic bank withdrawal is not currently available. Bank bill-pay services are discouraged for delinquent accounts as they can take 7–10 business days to process.

Fees and extensions. A $30.00 fee applies to returned checks. Payment extensions may be requested by calling customer service before the bill becomes delinquent.

Operational Information

Office hours. Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. (excluding holidays).

Meter reading. All water meters are read on a monthly basis.

Emergency contacts.

  • Business hours: call the Utilities Department at 740-652-7120.
  • After hours: contact the Fairfield County Sheriff's Office at 740-652-7900 for water issues or sanitary backups.
