HOW DO I LICENSE MY DOG?

LICENSING YOUR DOG IS QUITE SIMPLE!

Registration season is December 1st through January 31st, so you have two whole months to get your dog registered for the current year. However, you can register your dog any time throughout the year, but penalty fees may apply, depending on the circumstance.

Registration for dogs is required in the state of Ohio. Per Ohio Revised Code 955, every person who owns, keeps, or harbors a dog more than three months of age shall file, on or after the first day of the applicable December, but before the thirty-first day of the applicable January, an application for registration for one year or three years or an application for a permanent registration.

Registering your dog can take place online at www.doglicenses.us, in person at the Fairfield County Dog Shelter, or at the Fairfield County Auditor's Office. The price of registration is determined by whether your dog is spayed/neutered and when during the year you are licensing your dog.

REGISTRATION FEES:
ALTERED (SPAYED OR NEUTERED)
1-Year License: $20
3-Year License: $60
Permanent License: $200
UNALTERED (NOT SPAYED OR NEUTERED)
