Communications Officer
Rachel Elsea has been serving in the newly created Communications Officer position since January 2022.
Prior to joining the Fairfield County Auditor’s Office, Rachel served as Clerk to the Fairfield County Board of Commissioners. She began her career in public service as the Constituent Services Director and Service Academies Coordinator for former Congressmen David Hobson and Steve Austria.
As Communications Officer, Rachel plans, develops, and implements comprehensive public relations programming and information. In her role, she represents the office in education, outreach, and media matters. Rachel manages all social media accounts for the Auditor’s Office. In addition, she creates and distributes educational materials for both internal and external stakeholders. Rachel also serves as the delegate for the County Records Commission and serves as a subject matter expert for record accessibility for the office.
Rachel is a graduate of Fairfield Christian Academy and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Concordia University Chicago. She is an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time outside. Rachel resides in Lancaster with her husband Charles, their four children, and Winyah the double doodle.
