The Fairfield County Recorder records, preserves, and provides permanent public access to the county's land and legal records — including deeds, mortgages, leases, liens, plats, powers of attorney, and military discharges. Indexes back to 1800 and documents online from January 1980 forward are available through the online document search.

The Recorder's Office will do its best to assist; however, staff will not perform searches or aid in the preparation of a document. The Fairfield County Recorder does not provide forms for recording. For recording fees and guidelines, please refer to the fee schedule.
