Annual Financial Reports
The County's financial story, told two ways — a full audited report and a reader-friendly summary for citizens.
Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR)
The Annual Comprehensive Financial Report gives citizens, investors, and other users the financial information they need to gain a true understanding of the County's financial affairs. The 2024 ACFR received an unmodified opinion from the Ohio Auditor of State and is expected to conform to the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting program of the Government Finance Officers Association — an award the County has received for 34 consecutive years (1989–2022).
The electronic version is identical to the printed version. Information in the ACFR has not been updated for developments after the date of the independent auditor's report.
Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR)
The popular report presents a creative, readable summary that the average citizen can understand. Fairfield County was one of only 447 recipients nationwide to earn the GFOA Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting in 2024 — its 22nd consecutive year.
The PAFR analyzes the County's revenue sources and how those dollars were spent, presents current and prior-year financial position, summarizes debt activity with a five-year trend, and reviews local economic trends and major goals and accomplishments.
