What the Regional Planning Commission does

The Fairfield County Regional Planning Commission reviews subdivisions and lot splits, administers the County Subdivision Regulations, and helps townships and villages prepare and apply zoning resolutions. The Commission also maintains the county’s Comprehensive Plan and land-use strategy, guiding orderly growth and development throughout Fairfield County.

In addition, the Commission supports floodplain management, farmland preservation, fair housing, and the Community Development Block Grant program, and administers the Fairfield County Building Department for residential and commercial construction.
