PROFILE - JON A. SLATER JR. 

Elected in November of 1992, 1996, 2000 and again in 2004, Jon A. Slater, Jr is at the start of a fourth term as the Fairfield County Treasurer. As a local tax collector, Slater's primary responsibility is for the collection of real and personal property taxes. As the county investment officer he is responsible for the investment and safekeeping of county funds. Slater directs a staff of 8 people and administers an annual budget of $370,000.

      Professionally, Slater is Chairman of the Fairfield County Board of Revisions, Fairfield County Investment Advisory Board and Past President of the Southeastern Ohio Treasurer's Association. He is a member of the Lancaster Special Improvement District Board and Main Street Lancaster, Community Improvement Corp., Fairfield County Budget Commission and the Ohio Treasurer's Association.  Jon serves as Secretary/Treasurer for the Ohio Council of County Officials.

       Personally, he is a member of the First United Methodist Church, Board Member Lancaster Athletic Booster Club and President of the Lancaster High School Swim Booster.  Jon and his wife have three children and reside in Lancaster, Ohio.
